Privacy, in plain words

What Zeya sees, what it keeps, what it never does — and what stays in your Chrome.

The rule Zeya is built on: it hears the video, and nothing else. The full policy is at Privacy; this is the short version.

What Zeya sees

  • The sound of the video you pressed Translate on, in pieces, while it is being translated. The sound is thrown away as soon as it has been heard; the words are kept.
  • The video's address and name, so History can name it and it can be found again.
  • Your email address, from the Google account you continue with — to know it is you.

What Zeya never sees

  • Your screen, your camera, your microphone.
  • Your other tabs, your browsing history, anything on your computer.
  • Which videos you watched. Zeya counts how many videos are watched in a day; it does not keep a list of who watched what.

What stays in your Chrome

Your History (the videos you watched), your Ask Zeya chats, your settings, your voices and — until December — your time. None of it leaves your computer. Clear history on the History page empties the list; the bin on a single video removes just that one. Neither touches the translation itself — the video stays translated, and its subtitles stay free.

Deleting your account

Write to support@zeya.dev from the email you continued with; the account and its email are deleted within 7 days. Nothing about what you watched was ever kept on our side, so there is nothing more to delete. What is in your Chrome stays yours: Clear history and the bin on a video remove it.
